Engine Machine Shop Around Northampton?

Hi All

 

Basically looking to get somework done on my pinto head and am looking for a good machinist around the northampton area. Hopefully someone out there will know a resonable one?!

not that close to you but john toovey in cannock is an excellent engine builder and tuner,

the only other option i can think of is burtons,

I know Newark (near Nottingham) is a bit of a trek but Newark Engines REALLY know their stuff. They don't advertise but are busy all the time. Work they have carried out on mine:

Balance Crank, match con rods by weight. Balance steel flywheel and double dowell to crank, Ported head (It had already been ported by someone else but badly), Rebore and fit new pistons, new core plugs, new main bearings, arp rod bolts and assemble the lot. Cut new unleaded valve seats on big valve head and new valve guides.

I worked for this guy when I was a student!!! You should get a good job but they dont actually do much machineing on site (well not when I was there). Quite expensive too.
