How about a Rover as fitted to the Superspec,200 bhp as standard and most of the problems with installation should be known.

but another option is a Saab 9000 2.3 turbo engine (95 on), bellhousing is the same as the VX XE engine to type 9 - 200bhp stock and been known to run happily at 330 (and there is a stage 7 which takes it to 470hp with 580nm)

 

but a v8 sounds much better

Loopy jap...light small ...280bh as standard ..can chip to 540bhp without engine mods ..lol

Duratec, it has taken over from the Sierra Cosworth lump as far as Burton Performance is concerned.

Just add throttle bodies for close to 200bhp you can tune further, if you have the money to 300bhp.

These engines are found in 2001 onward Mondeo's, so scrapyard cheap.
