Tyres

Hi - I need to fit a set of tyres to my RH supplied 2B alloys, but I'm not sure what size or make would be best for me. RH seem to recommend 205/50/15, but I gather 195 or 185 widths are commonly used. I would appreciate any info or advice on this subject. I expect to do relatively low mileages, hopefully in the dry (ha ha!). [18 months in and still drilling and grinding].

Cheers, Will from Sussex. (snips)

I Have 195's on my RHE supplied alloys

A, because i only have the standard wings (205's stick out to far)

B, because 195/50/15's are alot cheaper than 205's

try prices at

www.mytyres.net

or

www.topgear.co.uk

I found some very reasonable 205/50/15's, made by Kumho they are directional, look VERY good and set me back £43 a corner. pic can be found on old site in Gareth Rees's build I have the car in links in the garage with stained glass windows(don't believe me go look!)

205/50's look the part but are too big for the standard front and rear wings...

I have a nice set of sticky directional Avon's fitted - can't remember how much they cost though....
