Adjustable Pedal Box

Whilst sitting in the back of a firms car on the way to the Clyde, i was so bored i started to look at the Focus handbook and in the adjust your seating position bit (yes i was that bored) i came across the electric movable pedal box, i think only on the top of the range.

Got me thinking as a while back, in an effort to accomodate my very short legged partner, i was trying to engineer a solution, so far adjustable seats and steering column.

I could find no other info just the switch position and a caution note on the pedals getting caught on any extra carpets.

It may be to big and heavy but if anyone has one in their Focus or works in a ford dealership, have a look and let me know please.

My guess would be a sliding arrangement over 2 fixed rods, with a central screw rod attached to an electric motor.

 

Have a look at a wood working vice for a tried & tested setup. No slop or twist at all.
