Is there anybody out there trying to fit a zetec engine in a 2b,

I would be grateful of any hits or tips, The major problem seems to be the pedal box area. Iam using the transmission gerbox hubs brakes and drive shafts from the donor but obviosly not the engine will this be good enough to avoid a Q plate

any thoughts

I don't know about any problems with the chassis, but the zetec will mate up with your box. They are common in Westfields. I think you need a special flywheel to accept the sohc clutch, and there is also a water rail casting needed to move it from the rear to front of the engine. Burton do all the parts rquired.

Avoiding a Q comes down to

1. Declaring SORN on the donor and not declaring it scrapped till you register the Hood.

2. 'Fitting' the new engine to the donor and informing DVLA of this and getting the V5 updated with the engine number, thus still being a single donor.

A floor mounted pedal box like the one Luego do might be an easy way round the pedal problem.
