Hi All

Hoping for a little advice (again I know).

I have an S7 - any tips on the best tyres to get for it? Or at least - has anyone got any that they are particularly pleased with?

cheers Paul

Hi Paul

Try searching on here for your subject , loads of stuff recently about tyre choice and some good web links.

Grippy race type track day tyre, or comfy road type tyre.

Thats your first decision.

I have Yoko 539's which I find very good in the dry but a bit skittish in the wet but they do ware well. Expect 10 to 15 k out of them unless you do allot of track days.

I agree DON’T go for economy tyres

I have a pair of budget Nexan unidirectional tyres on the front of my S7 and find they have a tendency to lock up too easily under hard'ish (panic?) breaking. A couple of times I've come to a halt in an embarrassing cloud of blue smoke!

I thought it might be the brake balance at fault but from the comments I take it that a softer stickier compound is needed?

Budget tyres always have that hard plastic feel to them, don't like the feel of them, i always think they feel like they are looking for a ditch just so they can have an early rest.

Also check your pressures, 18 to 20 on the front normaly
