Robin Hood V8 Ebay

Hey chaps,my dad is thinking of buying that fire damaged robin hood on ebay,the one with the V8 in it.(I think he gets jealous when he sees me and my lad driving off into the sunset,I mean rainclouds!)

Any thoughts on it?

I think £2500 is a bit steep considering the damage.

Any comments appreciated.

Don't expect 250bhp out of a 3.5V8 and to be honest looking at the damage I wouldn't expect the engine to be much use at all.

I'd go and take a good look at it first.... might be better off buying a part built or a scruffy one that's already on the road & upgrading. There was what sounded like a nice one on here a week or so back for not much more than that....

i'd agree.

 

there was one on here for 2k about a year old with an sva. i'd get that drive it a bit and then upgade here and there.

fire damage could leave you with huge mounts of work before your dad ever gets on the road. also those v8 bits you need to replace can really add up.

If it was about £1500 he would probably be tempted.

He does fancy a V8 though,probably to get one up on me!

Probably wouldn't be much quicker than mine though when I do my cam and bike carbs this winter!

Anyway,think I will put him off that one.
