Why are you trailering your car anywhere? You don't need too.

The local DVLA office visite you for the BUI

You can drive it to the SVA without plates (that sorts the speed cameras out)!

Leeds DVLA USED to come out to you for BUI, but don't/won't/can't/something-to-do-with-health-and-safety/not-PC/whatever (delete as applicable) do this anymore.

It varies all over the country.

I hired a trailer from my local Trailer/Towbar Shoppe just for the afternoon.

We did a deal and he was happier than me. £30 I think.

You are lucky Alan I don’t think there is many areas where they will come out to you Peterborough never have done In the 80s and mid 90s with previous cars they insisted on the car being trailerd to them but in 02 with the hood I was allowed to drive it there.

There is an alternative..

Robinj66 arranged his BUI for the same day as SVA, so technically he was driving back from the SVA ;) which you are allowed, but via DVLA.

Just an option, sure someone will throw more light on this and correct accordingly, but could be a little tricky to arrange though......

Hi All

Sorry I have been away from my PC.

I need to look at the paperwork, it used to say BUI was either at the DVLA office or at yours by request.

If you have looked at my web site you will see I didn't have a BUI as I gave the DVLA office time to do it and then went for SVA.

Won't/can't come for BUI is about right, they don't have personnel for this task!

I will ring my private contact at the DVLA to check.

Watch here for details.

Alan
