After weeks of deliberation I have finally done the deed and bought a 3.5 V8 for my S7. I will strip this down and get it rebored if necessary plus whatever else needs doing and hopefully have it all sorted by Spring next year.

Bazwaz is to blame for this........... :D :D :D

rpi are very good. very quick delivery. they do employ possibly the largest ego/rudest person i've ever spoken to in my life though.

real steel i think are a bit cheaper.

the sd1 forum is quite handy, just dont tell you ripped your v8 out to stick in a kit car!

Good luck with the build. Great fun and good engines to play with :D

I would recommend this place for parts/advice. V8 Tuner

Also have a good search on Ebay - there are plenty of Land/Range Rover people who do some good deals on things like bearings/mounts etc.

:D Great stuff Stuart

time to get that shoe horn out ;)

I have been studying Bazwaz's engine bay pics and think the same about the shoe horn!

Mind you, I recently changed the glow plugs on my Peugeot Expert van and think that a gynaecologist would have been in awe of the positions I got my hands in to remove various parts :D

I will keep a look out for bits and pieces as I go

The next thing is the gearbox and bellhousing.........
