Superspec Starter Solenoid Connections

Hi All,

 

Quick question. On the Rover T series SuperSpec, what connection on the solenoid is live and what is the earth?

 

There is one 'large' connection (13mm nut) on the top and one 'small' (10mm nut) on the bottom, along with a couple of spade connections.

 

There are no markings on the solenoid that I can see.

The large one is the +ve It is the main distribution point for the bettery +ve

 

For the SVA this had to have an insulated boot over I assume the IVA is the same.

 

The starter wire goes to the spade..

For the insulated boot, I guess a nut cover would suffice.

The supplied starter leads are quite inflexible (pre-formed and stamped Ford - think these must be from a Sierra) and both marked +

 

A trip to Halfrauds will be in order next weekend to get some more 'flexible' leads.
