anyone know the amount of fuel the standard r/h fuel tank holds and is it possible to fit a larger one

No idea how much the standard RH tank holds, but the answer to your second question is yes. Basically you can have as big a fuel tank as you want, at the cost of boot space.

 

My tank (from Chris Gibbons) should old about 10 gallons, and it just fits in the same position as the standard RH tank, but it's a bit taller, and probably a little wider as well.

In theory, the old tanks hold about 34 litres, BUT it depends on how far the fuel filler pipe projects into the tank as to how much you can actually get in it. I have seen a nice tank with baffles and end wings pointing forwards which holds quite a lot more.

so basicly were talking 7 gallons,so if car does 20 mpg the tank will last 140 miles

at 220bhp + I think you might get a bit less than 20 mpg unless youre really gentle

with the gas

I've got a standard RH tank in mine.

£20 initial fill up from empty, £18 to fill it up from the red, 150 - 160 miles motorway driving to get it back in the red.
