Power Steering

Hi All,

I have a slight dilemma, on the 2L Rover engine i have, the power steering pump is not going to be used, so what do you suggest i do with the pump, do i

 

A remove the belt that drives the pump or

B put a short length of pipe full of power steering fluid in a loop to the IN and Out?

C another suggestion?

D Forget about it and hope it goes away!

 

What do you recon, has anyone else had this problem?

Remove the belt and the pump as thier not needed - save a few BHP for the rear wheels and a little weight.

I agree with Richard but cant remember if the belt drives anything else if so get a shorter belt.

Take the pump off, don't just put a hose loop for the fluid, as when it pumps the small amount of fluid will get hotter and hotter eventually probably boiling and seizing the pump.
