Mig Weld Aluminium Or This Stuff?

Hi all,

 

I'm after your advice and/or comments.

 

Should I go the MIG weld route or should I try this stuff? Has anybody tried it?

I need to modify my fuel tank as supplied by GBS to include outlet, inlet and breather tubes. Plus I thought while I was doing this I might include a collector pot on the bottom of the tank to stop surges etc as there are no baffles either.

 

It is either this or I may get one tailor made or modified by GBS.

 

Any thoughts?

tried it many years ago with no sucess. for a decent and neat weld on aluminium id go tig myself.

I use this stuff to "braze" small ally parts for model aircraft, eg broken silencers, silencer stubs, crankcase mounting lugs etc.

It works fine, but I've only used it on very small parts.

I'm not sure I'd use it for something critical like a fuel tank.

ive tried it I think its for small items, i used it on alloy sheet it worped the sheet as i went along could just be me though.
