4 Into 1 Exhaust

Has anyone got pictures, or remember changing the RHE 4-2-1 to the 4-1 manifold in an S7? it looks like it should clear the steering but might be close to the engine mounts. As its just about possible to get the old manifold out without taking the engine out I think the new one will be impossible? + cutting a bigger hole in the side, looks like you need to cut the hole first then decide it was in the wrong place!

On my 3a, which is not too disimmilar, the steering shaft HAD to come out, but it was still a struggle as it hit the engine. Hope this helps

Hi I took the two bolts and plate from mid column shoved the lower col away from the eng and fair enough with a struggle a4/2/1 comes out and even when wrapped went back in [more struggle],opened the hole up in the side panel to approx 6"x 6" [mainly forward and up ]no more probs I then fabbed up a wedge shapped cover which also helps to extract under bonnet heat it has been ok since HTH mower man

Thanks Mountfield Man, are you saying you have got the 4:1 in with the bigger hole or have just made the hole bigger for the 4:2:1?

I made it bigger for the 4/2/1 and the bonus was lower u/bonnet temps regards mower man
