Backfire

I have a mk2 with a 2.0ltr pinto on dellorto 40s.Every time i stop the engine when its hot

there's a slight backfire.I'm sure the timing is ok the carbs are not 100% set up yet,but it

did this even with the dgav.

Any ideas?

a shortish length open exhaust will let fresh air back up and help ignite the small amount of un-ignited fuel as the engine is turned off.

mine does a small one but only when really hot, apart from better manifold cooling - and or a anti run on valve - longer exhaust not a lot you can do.
