Please Help Me

I have discovered that I do not have McPherson struts to make up my front sliding pillar assembly. I have searched the local scrappy and none there either!

Does anybody know where I can get some made up?

Steve.

If it is just the shiny shaft throught the middle that you need then I have a pair you can have I didn't need them for my wishbones. I will be at detling on saturday

If you list all the stuff you are missing and need, I'm sure there are plenty of hoodies that are using wishbone suspension that have the bits laying around in dusty corners some where. :)

Hi all,

Yes its just the shiny chromed shafts that I need, I have the hubs e.t.c.

I am not going to be at Detling I'm afraid!

Can anyone help?

Steve.

I also have most of the parts needed to make up a set . chrome shafts with 12mm thread.

I also have a pair of hubs not modified.

I will be at Detling on Saturday.

I suspect I am in the same position as Lew.

I disgarded the front struts with the rest of my donor as I bought the wishbone upgrade for my 2b. I have found that I need the large washer from the top of the strut that holds the spring under compression for connecting the rear axle to the body.

Can anyone tell me if the shape of this washer is important or could a large flat disk of metal of similar dimensions be used instead?. It needs to clamp on a rubber mounting if I understand it correctly.

Alternatively, does anyone have a couple I could have/buy?

Thanks Chris.

As I will have to manufacture a suitable disk of metal I guess I can make it any size I like. From memory I seem to remember the one I disguarded being 6 inches or so. Is this the sort of size you would suggest I go for or have I remembered the size incorrectly?
