Camshaft

Hi Guys,

I have a 2.0L Pinto in my 2B but not too sure of the full engine spec. :unknw:

Can anybody help me identify the camshaft from the photos below, please?

Pic 1

Pic 2

Pic 3

The first 2 pics are of the rear end of the shaft.

In Pic 1 the stamp "GA" is quite clear but the rest looks like a right old mix of poorly stamped letters/numbers.

At the top of Pic 2 the stamp looks like "9491" or "949 1"

Any help gratefully appreciated. :good:

Cheers,

Trev

Not possible to extract information from the numbers however.

Most standard cams have no information as regards lift duration.

Most aftermarket cams will have a part number such as KCFR32. Kent Cam Fast Road 32

From the look of the cam lobe base circle which is higher than the cam core it has not been remanufactured and probably has no more lift than standard.

You can measure the cam base circle to cam lobe tip to find the cam lift, somewhere around 6mm standard

You can measure lift at the valve by setting a dial guage on the cam follower over the valve stem and measure valve lift, 9mm standard.

If the crank pulley and cam pulley line up with the timing marks, the rocker gaps are standard and you don't have a vernier cam pulley then it's a standard cam IMHO
