Server Move

Recommended Posts

As these forums get bigger and bigger, the amount of power required to run them also becomes larger and larger. Of course my server isn't only for this but is getting a bit old and tired (like me!)! The current server is being decommissioned at the end of this month and the new server is already running and I've started the process of moving over the websites. RHOCaR is the largest site I host (disk space wise) taking up around 4gb of disk space, but growing rapidly. In fact once the new server is in place RHOCaR members will be given more PM'S and disk space etc. as there will be plenty of it.

It will take some time to transfer the whole site over to the new server, and due to the pace of the forums I will have to disable for a while. This could be anything from 6hours to 48 hours depending on how fast the transfer goes, and how well it fits in with my time (trying to fit it around my contract!). So I apologise in advance for the downtime :) this will probably take place sometime in the next 7 days.

If your reading this, then you are viewing the updated forums on the new server! After transferring the site I took the opportunity to upgrade the board as well - I'm still trying to tweak some parts, but feel free to post anything odd!
