Rv8 To Lt 77 Screeching Noise When Clutch Pressed

Has anyone encountered this problem? when i push the clutch pedal, occasionally i get a horrible screeching sound it used to only happen when i was at very low speed or stationary i.e parking etc but now between gear changes as well

 

The gearbox is recon the clutch and release bearing are also new and it did it before these were changed,

 

my only thought is the spigot bearing in the crank? its the only moving part that hasn,t been changed on the transmission side..

 

 

 

Any ideas ???

Its the only bit you say you haven't changed!

Another forum has suggested excessive end float in the crank ???

Hi Dan would certainly give serious thought to the spigot brg ,having chased this prob some years ago on an SD1rover [box in and out numerous times on warranty ] ,if I recall correctly it's abronze bush , what we did was to warm a new bush and put it in some ep90 then fit making sure that it was in square and had no burrs result silence bye for now mick

IIRC there are 2 or 3 different spigot beari-ngs for the RV8. Might be as well to check the measuremen
