I did a trackday at blyton park last saturday, the car ran great and I managed to get some mapping done with the mega squirt. Only had one real problem and that was breaking the steering wheel!!!!

that looks shocking! I can't think how that has broken, but i would like to take a look at it. Assuming you've not had a head on collision, something like that should not break. I'm a metallurgist and i specialise in failure investigations. If you want me to take a look 'gratis', i would be more than happy.

The problem with these wheels are that the metal is infact not metal,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,but toffee!

If my steering is at half a turn and i accelerate in first or second the wheel will bend if I'm not fully planted in the seat, and it bends at the point where Marus's has broken, I'm a fat git so mine does bend all the time, I reckon this is the problem,

So dave You sayIng I,m fat?

Me I put it down to the lighting fast steering reaction I have , must have some effect on the toffee the wheel is made from.

Dave I agree with what you say I have noticed the wheel bending a little as I drive but for this track day I moved my seat and changed the harness's so I was better held in the seat and used the wheel less as a brace.

Still this wheel was just too cheap and I guess you get what you pay for.

Didnt put me off thought still did another 5 sessions after it broke !!!!

Hi, was thinking of buying one of these steering wheels myself for my 2b. Was thinking of getting 320mm what size was the one which broke.

Cheers Neil.

It was well run and I got lots of track time, just bring lots of petrol!!!

It was well worth the trip and the track is in good condition with new tarmac and has a few very technical corners.

When are you going?

Sorry I had seen that post.

It's a 3 hour drive for me so I stayed at a premier lodge the night before ( adds to the cost), but I did see a campsite/ caravan site in the local village so stopped for a look but I think it's the set for the tv show my big fat gypsy wedding so will give that a miss.

But very temped to go again.
