2B Lower Wishbone Balljoint- Nut Securing

I put my front suspension back together last night and came to put a split pin through the male thread of the lower balljoint, just above the torqued up nyloc. I blunted 2 drills in about 1 minute! I guess the ball joint material is seriously hard- any other ways of securing without having to drill? Or do i just need to buy some better drills? TIA, Brian

What tends to happen is that people think they can use Nylocs over and over again.

Really they are a "once only" especially on things like ball joints.

On stuff like carb mountings they can be re-used but I would never recommend it on any running gear type application.
