Filler Cap Lock Adjustment

Hi I've just fitted a new filler cap from CBS, but as you can see the lock does not sit straight in the cap, does anyone know how to remove the barrel so I can rotate and refit ?

on a side note, the original hole in the back of the car was plasmer cut and about 54 mm diameter. I killed a hand file trying to increase the size so bought a 60mm Qmax screw punch for £28 and was very impressed that it made such a good job even though it not designed for this thickness stainless.

anybody have any sensible replys?

it's not the mounting which is wonky it's the lock barrel in the relation to the cap that is out.

it's been assembled so it must come apart, what I need to know is how, has anyone stripped one to maybe replace a broken barrel etc.

 

I'll live with it for now as I have bigger issues to fix but would be nice to have it all lined up.
