Could Be These Wheels?

Hello, I am David from Granada (Spain). I ordered to Kit Spares the Robin Hood Sports Cars Catalogue...and reading it I found it's written that for the 2B (my car), the only recomended wheels are175X65 tyres with 14'' wide wheels or 205x50 tyres with 15'' wide wheels...and my car has 195x60 with 15'' wide wheels. Is something wrong??, or the 2B can go right with the wheels I have??.

Thanks a lot.

Hi,

people run all sorts of different sizes from 13's to 18's. I think the quoted values are probably standard ford sierra sizes so Robin Hood stated these as they know they fit properly.

I run 195/50/15's and i had 185/65/14's on for a while.

Do you have double wishbone suspension on the front or sliding pillar? if you have sliding pillar you will be much better off with 15's as you will have more clearance inside the wheel.

You don't need to go crazy wide with tyres as these cars are relatively light. You also need to check that the speedo is somewhere near correct.

My wheels + tyres (15's) are actually smaller than the old ones (14's) so the rolling circumference is less so my speedo reads higher than i am really going. If your wheels+ tyres are bigger than standard you will read over and could end up getting a speeding ticket by accident.

hope that makes sense

Thank you for your answer, now I feel more calm about the wheels, anyway after your words I will check the speedo of my car.

Best wishes.
