S7 Steering Rack Change For Quick Rack?

Hi all,

Can anyone tell me what quick rack steering rack I can use in an S7. Present one is ridiculous. 32 turns lock to lock or something.

 

Also if anyone knows of a full exhaust going for a pinto engine would appreciate a heads up.

If it's got the sierra rack it can be uprated or a power rack can be used with a loop pipe [ no power ] , other racks May be more difficult with the exception of mk 1/2 escort HTH mower man

Picked up a quick rack kit from Rally Design, not easy getting the pinion cover nut off but got the kit for £60 for 2.7 turns.

It's a quick rack kit from Rally Design!!!!

 

You get the rack and pinion.

You have to strip the old rack right back

Take the track arms off

Take the pinion out, this may need a fabricated tool

Remove the rack from the casing

Then reassemble in reverse order

So far I am to the point of gabbing a tool to get the pinion out

Sounds like a right chew. Isnt there one i can just buy and slot in, albeit with slight modification? Anyway, off to have a look at car today.

If it is a Triumph based S7 then you can get a quick replacement rack off the shelf from Rimmer.
