Alternator Zetec

hi all fitted bike carbs to my zetec and know alternator will not fit does anybody now of a smaller alt that will fit

hi cma was trying to find out if there was a smaller alt to fit mounting bracket cos its just a few mill I need if ive got to fabricate new mounting might aswell stick with original alt if it will clear steering column

I have just fitted a retroford alternator kit to my silvertop zetec, granted not "cheap" but bolted straight up with no hassle. I then reused the pinto alternator by changing the pulley from a single v style to the multi v zetec style. cleared a fastdan inlet manifold zx9r carb combo, can't comment on the steering column on your car though

My zetec runs a full size alt with a pair of 45webers sat above with plenty of clearance so dont see why a small one is needed. Thats a silver top dont know if blacktop is different.

I made did a home made bracket to fit f/rh side (looking from front) low down with an top idler to get right direction or water pump all made from bits of steel i had plus old cvh alternator and bracket and a multi vee pulley from auto eleca total cost of £2 for pulley
