Hi, this may seem a daft question but will the emerald ecu be ok fitted in the engine bay behind the battery as im out of space every were even behind the dash, i have the battery fitted at the top in front of the fire wall so i was going to fit ecu on fire wall then the battery in front of it has anyone got any thoughts thanks jase.

Being IP65 rated, it should be fine provided it doesn't have high pressure water directed straight onto it - which is highly unlikely given where you're looking to site it. So as good as anywhere if you ask me (other than under the dash, obviously!).

Although Emerald could probably stand a nuclear blast, IMO, out of the engine bay just keeps everything tidy and clutter free, as well as being away from heat, water, oil, battery acid, and the rest if behind the firewall.

 

how have you run out of room under the scuttle?

Hi thanks for info, space has vanished, ive centralised fueses relays, and there will be a radio fitted when passed, and also there will need to be space for the wiper motor, i also forgot i dont now how! about the ecu, before you now it im scatching my head.

mounted mine on top of the pedalbox under the bonnet, guessing that as the original unit for the previous engine was mounted there it's ok, also put it on rubber to absorb vibration.
