Does the steering column have to be collapsible for the IVA? If so is this too much??

the steering column itself contains the collapsible section.

The upper tube has 2 internal bushes. The bottom triangular part fits (tight) into the bushes.

In a front end shunt the bottom will slide into the upper & not spear your chest..
