Help Need For Turbo Connections

jmspec

Recommended Posts

I have just started my super spec for the first time since I started building it nearly 10 years ago.

It is fitted with a Rover T16 2000cc turbo.

I suspect that my connections (guessed) which I have made to the turbo are not correct.

Does anyone know where the connections should go.

The left connection in the photo (I think waste gate) I have taken to the plenum chamber and the right connection in the attached photo goes under the throttle body.

Any help would be great.

Jez

I haver just refitted my turbo ( on a Nissan I know, but should be the same).

Waste gate actuator goes to the outlet side of the inlet compressor.- normally into a Garrett aluminium casting , or into the pipework close to the Turbo. If into the plemum you are in the right airstream but will suffer more lag as the pressure has to build in the whole airspace before actuation.

Other pipework is the oil in and drain to sump ( top and bottom), and cooling water front to back.

Hi Graham

Thanks for the advice.

Pretty sure all the other pipes are as you described.

In the photo, is the waste gate actuator the one on the left of the photo?

What you have described, maybe the 2 unidentified pipes should be linked via a boost control valve?
