What Sensor Is This

The sender in the block is a single wire to the gauge it earths through the block so avoid ptfe tape. The pinto injection also has a seperate two wire ect engine coolant temperature sensor that goes to the ecu. The ect is located in the middle of the injection manifold the sensor sits in the coolant going from the head to water pump via the heater if you have one.

If you have sierra gauges wiring may still be there and would have been a brown/white wire. If you find such a wire you can check it's the correct one. (With ignition on) Hold its free end ( the end that goes to the sender, not the end that is attached to the gauge) to an earth and the gauge needle will move to one end of the scale. Having identified the wire or put in a new wire to the gauge, the free end just goes on the sender. The sender has a terminal for just this single wire.
