Pinto Sump Tabs

Hi all. Found out the oil leak I have if coming from the from crescent gasket. Have bought a replacement but wanted to get the old little fibre tabs out.

 

Not enough sticks out to be able to grab them with pliers.

 

Has anyone got any ideas on an easy way to get them out? If not will just have to resort to 'digging' them out with a gasket pick!

When you put the new wedges in use some grey Hylomar or silicon to seal them in and fill the gaps in the block which always weeps

Thanks Paul. That seems to be the the issue I have had. Just need to get the old ones out!

 

Going to use the upgraded cosworth crescent gasket which has the tabs built in. Will give it belt and braces.
