205 Engine Block??? Registered as a 1593cc

Hi Guys,

So I’ve started tinkering with the new purchase and something grabbed my attention pretty quick. On the side of the block at the top is a large 205 stamp. The engine is however supposed to be a 1593cc (at least that’s what it says in the German registration document). Looking around the net, it seems that the 205 is a 2.0L?

can anyone confirm this?

Yes second generation 2l block.

Had an engine change and did not update registration.

In the UK would probably only be of interest to the insurance provider.
