Sliding Pillar

Can I fit coilovers in place of small front shocks that I have in front of the slicing pillar springs,if so what kind?

I dont see how you could.

the spring fits round the sliding pillar, & the shocker takes up very little

space, you couldnt fit a coilover in its place.

The only way I see would be to replace the fixed wishbones with "proper" ones.

I'm with Bob on this one... The only possible upgrade would be to use some adjustable gaz dampers in place of the existing ones but I can't really see them making too much difference as the suspension is already quite stiff. All you'd end up doing is making it more "skittish"...
