No Screen

Has any one fitted the fly screen/deflector rather than the windscreen and doing so did they then not install teh heater and obviously the wipers, so the last question is how did the SVA go.

 

Any pictures would be apprecaited

Is not classed as a windscreen (The screen has to be a certain height,to be a

windscreen) so does'nt require wipers/demister.

It does need to be free of sharp edges of course,,,,,ie a radius greater than

2.5mm on any exposed edges

Here's a copy of the diagram from the SVA manual

This shows how you determine the "Windscreen Horizontal Plane", below which your aeroscreen must be to avoid wipers/washers and demisting.

The seat must be in it's lowest and most rearward position

The seat back if adjustable must be set to 25°

If the seat back is fixed there is a table that varies the values of dimension 'A' & 'B'

When I was at school this was called 'plane geometry'

Thanks for the info, sounds as though no one hsas done this with a hood as of yet,

I think that many have gone to SVA with no screen, but can remember seeing anyone who went with aeroscreen or similar.

cant remember his name but he has a red/white car with a rollin stones tongue logo on the side

Thanks for the picture tells a thousand words, intresting looks as though he has jets but no wipers due to the size of screen I may be mistaken though! Wonder if he has installed heater and a screen demister?

 

What I was alooking for is the areo type of deflectors so if there are any of these out there on a hood I would like to see

I looked at aero screens but all the ones advertised had alittle note NOT SVA RECOGNISED

when you come to sell your car, a car without a proper screen is seriously not worth as much as a similar one with a proper screen etc. people want to be able to fit weather gear if need be, especially in this climate of ours

I accept this but we will still have the screen etc if they wish to fit etc.
