oh i wasn't picking on you, just from my previous experiance they seem to be stupid kids with no intelligence, which is clearly not the case! :lol: ^_^

Not sure what you mean but there are a number of lines taken up showing your avatar, number of posts, status, etc. etc. -does that account for it

 

I've just completed a test heating up an offcut from my S/S 2B body panels - will post results tomorrow - with photo.

OK so here's a pic of the test strip after heating the front end to dull red.

The discolouration appears normal and no bubbling or lifting is observed.

What does this mean ?? - IMHO there is no plastic or lacquer layer on this sample.

However I doubt that the stainless sheet used in these kits over the years comes from a single source or conforms to a single specification.

Note the different colour stripe in the bottom right hand corner - this is where the metal has previously been plasma cut

Hi Tony,

It is the mirror finish stainless.

The photo was taken via heavily diffused light to prevent reflections

Here another which may serve as a timely reminder to some - not you I note :)
