Anyone have any idea what type of rack RH supply with the 2B kit, eg Sierra, escort, what? - the supplied rack doesn't exactly seem quick, so I'm thinking I'll replace with something quicker, but don't know what type to get......

Cheers,

John

whatever they can get their hands on
True each batch seems to be different I think mines Metro some are escort others ???? As Dave says the cheap way is to fit a power rack just drain – grease up as you would a normal rack and link the pipes together (you can just leave them open except that crud gets in)

The rack to have is a scorpio rack, these have the same fittings as the Siera but are variable ratio. A good thing to have if you can muscle it all the way to lock stops, I'm gonna fit my X type rack soon and power it with the origonal sierra pump. It will be good, oh yes!

Guy,

Self centering depends mainly on correct caster angle, but any resistance anywhere in the steering train will reduce the self centering effect.

A power steering rack should make no difference.

My replacement wishbone setup uses a standard Sierra rack, which was far too twirly. I replaced it with a power rack setup as described earlier. its far better, but steering at low speeds is now pretty heavy & it snaps back from cornering. I'll be reducing the caster using the well tried "move a washer" method.

Aha, this is all very interesting, I hadn't thought of using a power rack de - powered, was thinking more of a straight replacement from Demon Thieves or the like if I could identlfy what had been supplied........ Can anybody come up with power rack suggestions as minimum hassle replacement suitable for the 2B? (Scorpios are a bit thin on the ground up here, so the more options the better) - I'd still like to know what the supplied rack is, but it sounds like it could be just about anything!

- The geometry discussion is interesting too, I was expecting to spend some time setting up to minimise bump steer optimise caster etc; seems like I was right!

Cheers,

John ^_^
