Alternator

the alternator packed up last night (in the dark) so we sneakily followed a truck home as the lights wernt bright enough to see anything in front...

 

done a few checks and i thought it was the alternator, but put the one from a spare pinto engine on instead and that doesnt work either so is it likely this is knackered too? or am i missing soimething?

 

another question, the belt on the spare engine is a couple of inches longer, why?

Hi Doc the belt is probably different because the alternater

has been repositioned to fit in the hood
