My donor car was delivered yesterday... Some specs for those interested...

77,000 mile (genuine) Sierra Saphire Cosworth with all receipts Stage 2 head, cams, stock ECU (stage 2 was sold prior to my intervention) Group A Head Gasket and Head Studs, Full engine and turbo overhaul at 73,000 miles. 1990 so no cat.

All the hoses are intact, the pic was taken just after he removed all the nice samco bits and K&N...

Runs nice and quiet, blows no smoke, but needs matching to current ecu

Fitted with Clifford 50 Alarm

Previously Owned by a 20 yr old who paid £6,000 and killed shell/bodywork in 16 days! LOL

A bargain at £1950

:D

Muwahahahahahahaha

I guess you could use an Emerald engine management system or "mega whotsit" is even cheaper..

Would let you keep the heads and stuff & you'll be able to play around with the map, rev limiter etc...

He hit a kerb on a corner at speed.... dug in and rolled onto its side....

Body twisted, most panels b0rked...

He sold the interior, rear diff, few odds and sods...

Salty, you got a link for that emeral engine management system?

:D

no worries, google is my friend, as is PPC

thanks for that idea about the emerald 3d management system...

Have been wildly reading and taking it all in, seems to offer a lot over a stock ecu for my purposes...

I especially like the anti turbo lag system...

Wonder what the SVA guy will think of flames out the exhaust on over-run tho

:D

Nah, turbo's don't last very long on anti-lag... it's ok if you're Colin Mcrae with Uncle Henry's spares shop behind you.. :p

.....and he will have lots more power than Wah-Wah (Rizla) ;) ;)

Let the HP / weight ratio battle re-commence.

Let the HP / weight ratio battle re-commence.

And I will keep my car in a double garage rather than a box in my front garden

;)

Only kidding rizla

Should make about 350 bhp with the boost wound up (gonna be switchable on the dash) and an all up weight of around 475kg...

About 780bhp/tonne

Putting that in context, a ZX12R (bike) is 808 bhp/tonne

:D mark, you wont be dissapointed with the buy thats for sure

dont forget you dont need a robin hood to join this club, theres many types of cars on here, and some without a car,as i was for a year

the membership is worth the £15 look at the barkston and curborough threads, you wont find any other club that can get a days track fun for £30 and that a promise

and insurance was cheeper for me because of my membership

the area secs do a sterling job in organising runs out etc,so join up you wont regret it

ps,i have a new exhaust now,a full race equal length system, rolling road set up this weekend :p that will be a bit more power

Thanks for the info Andy

Will join up fer sure as the community and social side is half of the fun of owning a car like this...

What muffler are you using on the system?

I can highly recommend a Laser Hotcam muffler as the best sounding and best power muffler of any available out there...

If you were to fit it upside down, Cam lober upwards it would almost look as if it blended into the chassis

:D
