  1. Doesn't that just add to the lottery with the superspec then haha
  2. I had the car sat idling and the battery was at a nice 14.something volts (it kept fluctuating but not by much. In terms of a dash light were not too fussed but it would also take away from the clean look we want across the dash we are going. This rewire job is alot more involved than I probably expected. Probably due to having the rover engine and ford other bits as the engine loom on the new wiring is going to be left redundant for the most part
  3. I don't have the escort instrument cluster. Does this mean I can leave it off or does it need to go to a bulb (led or filament) to make the alternator work properly
  4. What are they at the switches as I can find it via a blue/white for dipped and blue for main, however this then stops the stalk working . I am using the billet switches from cbs
  5. Hi guys I have a premier loom and trying to find the dipped beam wire. I have power to the main beam but can't figure out the dipped beam. There is supposed to be a brown and yellow wire but can't see that anywhere apart from the brake fluid light Any help would be greatly appreciated.
  6. It looks like that will be on the shopping list. Also where does the thin wire from the alternator go to as when I disconnected everything it just went to nothing.
  7. The lambda wires weren't connected properly on the initial start up so probably wouldn't of made too much of a difference hopefully. Most of the original wiring was left in but I haven't got any shielded wire. Will this make much difference. Hopefully tomorrow I should be able to move the car out and get around the car easier
  8. Alan. You my friend are a superspec guru. Put that wire from coil -ve to the ECU and first time fired up. It's great to hear her roar again. I will definitely get one when I get paid though.
  9. I never got the robin hood issued wiring diagram. I have been using the wiring diagrams supplied by you and Andy which have been invaluable as it helped me identify what each sensor wire was and also to wire in the ignition sensing to the correct place
  10. Hi guys. My 2.0l rover t series engined superspec isn't starting after a complete rewire. I can get it to turn over but not fire. I have a wire from the coil to the ECU ignition sense pin and everything is earthed including the coil (I am getting 12v across it) and the ECU. The fuel pump is definitely working and the relay for the ECU is wired up to the battery. Any ideas of what's stopping it starting
  11. hi. has anyone wired in a hazard light motor sport switch from CBS. i have attached photos which i hope will help people identify it. It will be wired up to a premier wiring loom. I have already gone through 2 relays and would like to get my indicators working. Any help would be greatly appreciated. https://ibb.co/eAB70S https://ibb.co/bHCx0S https://ibb.co/dN3jVS
  12. My computer crashed and I did have a backup of it on a hard drive which I seemed to have misplaced. However I did look back at it I just wanted some clarification on some things as when I showed my father he managed to confuse the hell out of me and made me doubt what I had read. It's definitely no reflection on you or Andy who's knowledge has been so invaluable
  13. In my new wiring loom there is a wire that comes from the ignition to the coil. I would guess that would be similar on the old birds nest of a wiring loom.
  14. That's brilliant Andy. Am I right in thinking the 10 amp fuses come from the solenoid. My father took them off and didn't label them up
  15. Hi can anyone advise me on how the yellow relays are meant to be wired up on the superspec. The relays are for: Lambda ECU Fuel pump Any help will be greatly appreciated
  16. It's the double carbon fibre effect light pods that Europa sell
  17. I'll probably end up doing it all anyway as they do look a bit dull. There is no major damage on the arches just a few scuffs on the side from the previous owner. With the be though will it help to remove the look of scratches as the nose seems to have had a tough life on the leading edge
  18. Hi guys. Bit of advice is needed. I have recently had to replace the rear light pods as someone drove into the back of one of the pods and as they have changed the style of pod we had you can now see the original bright yellow grp that was on the car as it was new. However the contrast between never seen daylight and always exposed is considerable. What is the best way to try and get the colours blended or at best matching?
  19. You did. That's brilliant and yes I did mean solenoid. Whoever decided cars need all these wires needs shooting
  20. Does anyone know what the brown/red wire that is connected to the starter motor goes to as my dad took it off and hasn't labelled it
  21. well i have taken the plunge into the snake pit (figuratively and literally) and have started to rip out the existing loom in my superspec. i have ordered a loom from Alan at Premier Wiring and i am excitedly awaiting for it to be ready. My question is how much of the engine loom can come out ( i am going to try and save as much hassle by keeping as much of the ECU in as possible) Thanks for the help in advance
  22. Brill. Thanks Alan. Didn't want to make an error and potentially do any damage
  23. Hi guys. I'm looking for some help I am struggling to remember where exactly the 2 wires go to on the alternator after I had to replace it. I did have a picture but cant find it anymore. Am I correct in thinking that the thicker of the two wires goes to the thicker stud and the thinner wire goes to the centre stud. Back of the alternator.
  24. No I haven't due to Christmas and a faulty alternator but I think for the time being going to keep the water pump as is
