    Well got money for birthday yesterday so ordering gaskets for engine, wire for megajolt rewire and new fusebox and a few orther things so hopefully be roadworthy for stoneleigh
  3. Instead of blocking return off if not got one already put pipe on and run down to floor and use as breather pipe might be a vacum in tank a breathe would sort that

    Yeah pcv valve removed aod elbow fitted to block i am now really believing valve stem seals But while head off need to cut hole in bulk head ready to fit new cam

    What do you mean duck did breather go into cylinder breather from crank to catch tank vented and cam breather to atmosphere

    I can rebuild no worries The compressions on all 4 cylinders before removing head was all the same about 120 off throttle The pston were bored new pistons and ring hadnt done many miles before i got it off keith So not sure what to do need to get to stoneleigh and wife nagging me to finish kitchen bathroom etc Wife happy or sex ban lol

    Well put about 1 cm worth of diesel in each cylinder After 2 hr cylinder 2,3 and 4 lost about half the diesel whilst cylinder 1 seems to of lost none

    Wel equal amoumt of diesel put in cylinders at 16.42 No obvious issue so far

    Might be gud for saturday mick i will let you know closer Going to put diesel in bores later and hopefully all goes at same rate on each bore

    Yeah think i did it without throttle and was all the same about 120 The bottom end is what i got off keith (unclecheif) and was bore to +0.5 which hadnt done many miles before i got it the bores all look good And if i cleaned the plug before start wud start fine but then burn oil but not on start up but when reved and overun I am thinking that why so clean is unburnt fuel coz back wheek and arch are black and stinks of fuel Then if turn off engine for evenw10 mins then try to start only runs on 3 cylinders take plug out covered in wet oily substance clean put back in and away fine Also looked and valve guides on 3 cylinder had oil under valve stem seal when seal removed the orthers didnj so obviously oil getting in

    Head gasket seemed ok tappets gap ok cam lobes ok gonna get price for guides and do diesel in pistons to check leak but wet oil on plug when stood not running

    Ok not took pics yet but definatly No cracks anywhere No marks on piston No scoring on piston bores Slight and i mean slight movement side to side valves in guides

    Had head pressure tested valve reground skimmed new cam bearing etc only guides not done as they said they fine and dont need doing so really apart from guides is a recon head No sign of head gasket failure Could be unburnt fuel in there as smells of petrol and oil in engine and exhaust Might ring headmaster ask how much for guides might even get new valves but no wear on them eiter

    That link didnt work alan But doent believe it is just ridge in carbon where we put screwdriver under while compressing spring to stop vavle droping

    No bob u are correct i was abit taken back by that dont quite understand that unless the oil on plug is causing the fuel not to ignite fully so keeping piston clean prop not but what else would explain it

    Cheers marcus might be calling on you but how much play is too much on valve guides cause theres no play with valves in guides

    When i took no 3 valve stem seals off there was oil all below alot lot more than rest so dont u think cud just be valve stem seals the guides were apparantly checked when skimmed is there any why to check them

    Well stu and i took head off today and discovered this The problem has been number 3 fouling plug and burning oil point of misfire Suspecting cvh valve stem oil seals but got to check guides And orther ideas
