  1. Thanks for all the replies, bottom line is that I'm staying with the current box which does leave me more money for other goodies now :-)
  2. Sounds like I'm better off keeping the box I have for now
  3. After a bit of digging I believe my diff is a 3.62 & yes it is a 4 speed type 9. So based on that I'm guessing the diff would be ok? As for the propshaft are they different splines or length or both? And the other question is whether an MT75 would physically fit in the tunnel? Or am I just better off keeping the set up I have & just do a direct replacement (2.1 pinto replacing the 1.?
  4. I've been offered an MT75 gearbox (from a Sierra dohc) to go with a high spec 2.1 pinto I'm getting but will it actually fit in my 3A as I know it's a larger casing than the type 9? It does seem an obvious upgrade as my type 9 is only a 4 speed which was mated to a standard 1.8 pinto. Rich
  5. Just taken a few pics of some of the bits that turned up with the car. I know the second part goes under the nose cone but is there any dimensions of exactly where it should fit?
  6. It's not doing the work that is an issue to me as I'm an engineer by trade & used to dealing with far more complex engineering projects, it's more knowing what needs doing. I'm up in Northampton but do travel down to Kent quite a bit. Any chance of getting hold of a copy of the dvd (at my cost obviously) Rich
  7. This is the only photo I have at the moment, but will take some more tonight & upload them
  8. As the title says I'm a newbie to this & have acquired unfinished series 3 & I'm not entirely sure where to start as I have a few spare panels which I assume are part of it but don't know where they go & also the front suspension was not fully fitted (attached the anti roll bar last night but it has no clamps, even if it did I wouldn't know where to attach them). I guess I'm after as much advice as possible or even better still a build manual or dvd (for which I will gladly pay for) Thanks in advance Rich
