I spoke to Richard Hall owner of GBS couple of weeks ago as I had concerns about some measurements on my 2b chassis. He said all 2bs are wonky as the jig was not made true! He told me to put my tape measure away as there lies madness......
working on my disc brake conversion and noticed that the drivers side has a bit of toe on it. “ 9 O’clock is further it than 3 O’clock position. The passenger side looks ok.
Any thoughts on this?

If there is a caravan to rent could you let me know as my wife and daughter wanted to come. Have been looking for a b&b near by.

My son needs new underpants at times.......

For the bias setup I am looking at changing the std Ford master cylinder.
Richard Hall owner of GBS recommend to me that the servo should be removed to prevent lock up. This dose work and braking is better but dose have a downside you need a heavy right foot......
I am looking to change this setup with new master cylinder and bias regulator to set up brake ratio.

Welcome to the club! Make sure you book in for the end of season bash a brilliant well organised event and a good chance to meet everyone.
I had the same problem when I first started and purchased the StormForce 4 cover. You may feel it is expensive but it is so well made it is worth every penny.
since then I have moved all my work tools / racking out of the garage into the spare room “a very happy wife” and had the garage plastered and now the car in stored in the garage, I do use the cover from time to time when working outside and don’t want to bring the car in.

Well what a day...... it has not gone well..... the line "I wish I had not started this" comes to mind.....
Who ever put the stub axle nut on put it on so tight could not get it off..... not even with heat. so last resort had to cut the nut off. I then find the bearings are different size.... AHHHHHHHHH
I was told the Cosworth and the 2.0 hub bearings were the same size...... my option is to buy Cosworth drive shafts but will my stub axle fit??????
-
Going to start the rear disc conversion today. I bought second hand Cosworth rear bearing hubs of eBay paid too much for them du to postage being £19.99 but hey ho.
Put the new bearings into the hubs yesterday. Going to tear the rear end down today.
Watch this space.....

I don't think rear drums are lacking in stopping power for the road, they just don't look great. I swapped to rear discs when I upgraded from a 7" diff to a 7.5" led and the rear beam would only take discs.
Thanks Richy totally agree they don't look great. I have seen a pair of ford sierra Cosworth 2wd read bearing carrier hubs. I would need calipers and carriers.
Would the other bits of my axle fit?

Is this still on how do we book?
-
That is helpful Richy many thanks for this. I’m interested what’s your opinion on converted the rear to discs?

Has anyone got any pictures of doors fitted to a 2b and any advice,
do the doors need forming into shape?
many thanks

Got it done. Both side now on and a measurement of 42” to centre of roll bar. Had to move it back 1/2” to achieve this.
do you have any advice for fitting the doors?
many thanks for the advice and pictures

Thanks Maca, Bloody struggling with this.... trying to do this on my own everything is moving ...... Do the doors have to be bent into shape too?
-
very helpful thank you

Thanks For the info, The supports from Kit Spares are thick steel and very very hard to form. I got one side on yesterday but I am a little out on the 42" measurement which I can sort out, I have a bit of a gap on the front of the bracket which I am having difficulty sorting.

I have bought new ones from kit spares just to be sure.
is there a measurement the brackets need to be set at to be correct for doors and roof to fit?many thanks
