i work on the DLR im a mechanic and im proud i played my part to keep London running.........excuse the pun lol

so just to update to anyone whos interested i have another post running called whats it weigh.........i was trying to work out what i could tow un braked behind my car with an A frame..............after countless phone calls to relevent agencys etc and deliberation on using a hire or buying a trailer.......i have gone back to my original idea of recovery by a professional....... I was trying to cut costs but to be honest i think its safer for me and my new car etc to pay the money and do recovery..........The A frame is to hit and miss with the law and other peoples views on it.........and the hire trailer is a no go as A i have never towed bfore and B will the car fit when i finally get there with such a wide back end....... Well the big day is tommorow and i will be taking photos and videos of what happens so wish me luck......cheers all for your advice!!!!! :)

well after all that im finally getting the car recovered as i dont wanna risk the A frame as i have no TAX and there are so many conflicting opions about whats what.........also i have neve towed a car with a trailer b4 so i think im safer with recovery.......i will add details later if he turns out to be a sorted geezer..........

yeah true what you say but to be honest ive just got the car and have no way to tax it myself so thats gunna be my defence if stopped........bloody law is a nightmare.....

it attaches around the wishbones i towed my beetle with it..............i have mot and insurance but no tax........but as it has an a frame it technically makes the car a trailer which means tax is not essensial..........although there are diffrent theroies on this and to be honest i asked the police and vosa and i got conflicting answers.......but the car has an mot so it is road worthy..........

my car can take 680kg un braked

yeah your the second person to say that.........its just that im picking mine up saturday and using an a frame to get it.

anyone know the rough weight of a robin hood series 3 with a 1.6 pinto engine!

i can confirm it does say that it is a robin hood series 3 thank god phew!!!!!!!!! cant wait to see some of you guys at shows etc.......................

well this car has a 4 speed and im picking it up saturday so ill give it a go and see what happens........my missus is gunna film my first ever drive in a hoodie and i hoping it will be epic.........you sound like you know your stuff......i added a pic of my beetle project.........check it out..................

Im not a fan of injection to be honest but would consider a 2litre in the future i guess and a better box i asume a 5 speed would be better that the 4 speed right?.......having said that my beetle goes like stink on 4 speed......hmmmm

so a 2 litre pinto would drop in ok without any major hassle? cool cheers........oh by the way i sorted the trailer cheers for your offer...... ill bear you in mind for future.......

so hi all im a new member and new to hoodies ijm collecting my car this sat.......as im a total novice does anyone know if this car is good in the hoodie world? its a series 3 1997 i think and is a 1.6 pinto engine...the car retains the donor car plate which is A66yax.....does anyone know anything bout the 1.6 pinto engine are they any good???? cheers...
