  1. So I’ve owned my Robin Hood new mark3 for a year now, the rears already have Gaz shocks, the front are still the standard originals with the red springs & zimmeride shocks I believe? I'm wanting to upgrade at least to some new shocks, either gaz or protech? What would be my best option, new shocks with original springs? Or complete new units with springs? if so does anyone know what spring rate to go for on the new mark 3 with outboard coilovers? can’t find much info on these models so any help is much appreciated!
  2. Thanks for all the responses so far! I’m going to go for some gaz shocks and springs, any ideas what spring rate I should go for? For a rough idea? They are standard red springs atm, I believe which came with the original kit!
  3. Ok mate thanks, is there a way to work out what spring rate to go for? Or does everyone just go for 120ib ish? also any other makes other than gaz to look for?
  4. It’s the same as the 3a but with outboard coilovers
  5. Perfect thanks mate, I’ll have a search through, tried to post some photos of mine but file size was too big!
  6. Where did you get the other springs from mate?
  7. So I understand there is very little information on the mark 3s and even less parts for them. I’ve only owned mine 3 months, does anyone have any information on potential front suspension upgrades? It’s the new mark 3 model with outboard coilovers! The coilovers are standard with red springs, I believe they came with the Robin kit originally? And the rears have been upgraded to gaz! Edit - I’ve recently discovered about a tie bar conversion, is this easy to do? Would anyone be selling the parts needed to do this? any help is much appreciated
  8. I’m using a genuine zx6r electric fuel pump, think it’s max 3psi, I’m not using a regulator no, which needle valves do I need to check? I’ve just started stripping the carbs down
  9. This is exactly how mines set up, might need to strip the carbs down I think
  10. Hello all, so I’m after some desperate advice with some bike carbs on my 2.0 pinto, I’m running a vacuum dizzy with 1 vacuum outlet per manifold tube on the carbs and then the brake servo also on the 4th tube, these are all connected via t pieces and 6mm tube. the problem I’ve got is it only seems to run on 2 cylinders, I know this is a carb / vacuum issue as I’ve swapped back to the original 32/36 carb and it runs a treat. Any ideas what could be causing this? It’s only on cyl 3&4, if you rev the car above 3k then it seems to run normal / better, it’s only on low revs / idle. also if I disconnect the vacuum pipe from 3&4 on the manifold then it runs much better. Could it be because I haven’t got a proper vacuum chamber and I’m only using 6mm pipe? Could the carbs be faulty? Could I have an air / vacuum leak? any help is much appreciated!
  11. Hi all! hope this is okay to post here, I was unable to post on events! Just wondering if anyone would be up for meeting & joining us at a car show next Saturday 1st July, it’s in Norfolk - Gt Yarmouth, would be great to meet & drive over with some others! so far there is 3 of us going, please let me know if you’d like to come too!
  12. What’s everyone done with their breathers when fitting bike carbs? hearing mixed options on just venting the crankcase to atmosphere and putting a little pod filter on the filler cap but then some people route both to a catch can, thoughts? ideally I’d prefer not to have a catch can to keep the engine bay tidier! But don’t want to cause any issues, any help is much appreciated!
  13. So I’m in the process of buying bike carbs and all the bits I need to fit, do I need a non vacuum dizzy to run these carbs? Can I run without or block the vacuum off? im already on a budget so just trying to save as much money as poss!
  14. Thanks for the response, yes mine is the later mk3 with outboard coilovers and they are red springs, I need to check if mine has the original anti roll bar, do you have a photo of what I’m looking for? also do you know anything about seat dimensions and what options I have?
  15. Hi all! Im very new to the scene and these engines! I’m looking for the “easiest” way to chuck a few bolt on upgrades on to get around 130bhp! could anyone almost list everything I would need to buy and do to achieve this? trying to learn as much as possible, any help is much appreciated!
  16. Hi all, Ive not long had my Robin and im still learning lots about them, two of the first things im looking to sort are any suspension upgrades to improve ride comfort and to swap out the seats, the seats are mega uncomfortable and dig into your legs ( it looks like there's room to fit wider seats) Im thinking better shocks all round is a good place to start, does anyone have ideas what shocks i can fit, front & rear? and the next question is does any one know what seats i could fit in the Robin? Any help is much appreciated
  17. https://www.facebook.com/marketplace/item/179510814953344/ anyway you can tell what model I’ve got please? Sorry It wouldn’t let me upload a photo!
  18. Another question! Looking for some comfier seats! Any ideas what seats will bolt straight in? Like the idea of ep3 seats but not sure they’ll accommodate the 3 point harness
  19. Thanks for the response! I’ve spotted that the steering column is touching the alternator, is there a fix for this?
  20. Hi all! just picked up my first Robin! Few bits need some tlc, can anyone recommend me some black led headlights? also what air filter & housing can I fit on the standard 2.0 pinto engine? Any good sites to look for bits like rocker gaskets, exhaust mani gaskets, oil filter etc? any help is much appreciated!
  21. Thanks for the response Steve! Generally speaking what sort of carbs fit the 2.0 pinto would you know? Possibly looking to go down the bike carb route but again, not sure where to start! Or would throttle bodies be a better shout?
  22. So I’m going to look at / buy a 2008 Robin Hood with a 2.0 pinto engine, it’s all standard and no mods yet… I’ve never owned a kit car before, I do work in the trade along with my dad who has recently built an SDR V-Storm! what are some initial mods / upgrades I can do / look into to get some more BHP out of these engines? also are there any other mods to consider looking into that aren’t engine related? I know nothing about these cars so any tips / advice is much appreciated! looking forward to driving and working on one!
