  1. Evening folks

Please excuse the daft question. The welded captive nut on the back of the GBS plenum is a mystery to me.

I wasn’t sure if it was for air temperature or air pressure.

    Any help would be appreciated

  2. Evening all.

Not been on for a while so its good to be back. I haven't been able to sort the car out as I have had an illness for the past few years but all ok now.

The car is running megasquirt ecu with GBS plenum. I keep finding conflicting views so I would like your knowledge on this. Can I run it without a cat and lambda sensor. It has past it iva with both.

The reason I ask this as I am in the process of rebuilding the car after a strip down.

    Regards

  3. Morning all

I'm busy rebuilding my Zero and going to replace the "top hats" in the wishbones. Ive had a look on Kit Spares but they want £8.70 for a set of four. I need 10 sets...yeah £87!

Does anyone know anywhere else that does the same sizes that would fit. I don't need the metal tubing just bushes.

  4. Evening

I have got a Facet lift pump and it seems very noisy. I bought it from EBay some time ago, it looks genuine but as we know there are a lot of counterfeit goods out there.

Would you expect a genuine Facet pump to be noisy?

£10 cheaper then list price should of given it away!!

  6. Just had a look at road tax fees on DVLA site. For the 2.0 Zetec which falls into the 186-200 CO2/g.km rage is £465!!!!!!!

Is this correct or am Ireading it wrong

  7. Took "Zoe" to Beverley new years eve for a re-test for emissions and she passed...about time too!!!

Just sorting out the rest of the paper work now so hopefully should be on the road soon. I cant wait.

  8. Fixed the misfire. Spark plugs....I went to Halfords and bought some for 2.0 Zetec 1999-2001. When I got home and took the old ones out they were about 10mm shorter than the new ones. For some reason the wrong ones were in there. No doubt responsible for the rough running of the car, i.e. poor emissions and misfire.

The spark wouldn't of been in the combustion chamber but up in the thread of the head. £13 on some Bosch 521 have done the trick. I think sometimes you look too deep into the problem and not the obvious ones.

  9. I have had emission probs right from the start really. I took the car to my local garage and they did a emission MOT for me and it past! I then went to my IVA and it failed on Lamda being to high. I have welded up the down pipe to exhaust to eliminate any air leaks as Lambda it is too high (lean).

I cant hear any air leaks inlet side either. I did use spark plub testers and number 1 cylinder was flashing brighter then the others. Then thought coil pack was at foult but thats tested ok.

Its probably the missfire thats buggered the emissions

  10. Afternoon

Just about ready to set fire to "Zoe" today. I had a IVA re-test booked this afternoon but had to cancel as emissions all over the place. Also have a miss fire which probably the factor for the emissions being erratic.

I have checked coil, leads and plugs and all fine. I have also tested that the injectors are working too. I'm running 2.0 Zetec with GBS plenum and Megasquirt.

Is the anyone local to York who knows what they are on about who can help me with this.

    Thanks

    Graham
