What made you want a catch tank in the first place.

Was it breathing heavy and dropping oil or is it for the bling.

People that originally build these engines, then the savage trials they go through.

If the standard breathing system is good enough for the clever boffins, tenn the original kit is good enough for me.

No oil now collects in tank or comes out cam just vapour

I got more condensation than oil ,all it needed was a wipe out now and then no smell ,no probs sorry but 5/40 in a pinto is a no no!! asa above 15/40 for winter ,20/50 or 20/60 for summer! mick

5/40 in a pinto..ask Mick what happens..New engine required..Halfords Classic all the way on Classic engines, (name gives it away)

Not neccesary new engine just the right oil back in the day fitted a recon 2.0 to a customers Sierra filled it with 10/40 it peed oil out ,smoked , so flushed it changed filter and refilled with 20 /50 turned dog into a good std car ,I keep saying it but nobody seems to listen Mick

Mick......its been my experience that making someone listen to advice

or trying to make them follow it is a waste of time.

 

I've even had someone....who is no longer a member.....tell me that the advice Ive offered

after he requested it, is complete rubbish.

Ignore my advice by all means, but have the courtesy to say thanks anyway.

 

So, I took a deep breath, count to 10 (several times!) then add his name to the "Ignore posts from" box.

I now restrict help to those who help themselves...

Hi Bob it was just a minor grump and I was possibly just as bad at times ,probably still am but had to keep up the std grumpy old man bit ,I'm classed as founder member and have the t shirt to prove it mick
