Type 9 Gearbox

Does anybody have a manual or instructions on how to strip and rebuild a type 9 gearbox?

Don't know if this will work, it covers type N boxes which i understand is the type 9. It's from the ford manual.

I had already food this. Unfortunately it is not in sufficient detail for my limited knowledge. I have a spare gearbox and started to dismantle it. Wish I never started.

Without a Sierra manual to hand it is a folly to even consider a gearbox strip / rebuild.

 

Plenty on eBay for not a lot of money .

 

Get your self one and read it several times and then decide weather you think you have the tools and ability, no offence intended there by the way.

 

Not sure even I would attempt a type 9 rebuild, it is a strange set up with 5th gear outside of the main 'box, and IIRC some special tools are needed.

Don't know of any other rebuild instructions. My Haynes manual for the sierra doesn't cover it.
