Fual Gauge/sender

I take it you have just come in from the garage and found my last post and the thought of taking the dash and instruments to bits to adjust the range doesn't specialy appeal at the moment.

All you need the gauge for is to tell you when you are down to your last 25 miles of petrol and need to stop at the next fuel pump. The rest is windowdressing (although it's nice to have it work properly).

:D Thanks Nigel, I'll bear your advice in mind if the sender needs tweaking a bit more.

OK two more things:

1. Has anyone out there bothered to fit a Low Fuel Warning Light? Is it easy?

2. I need some sort of material to act as a strainer/filter on the pick up pipe.

Can anyone suggest something suitable that's petrol proof?

I've looked on the web but can only find in-line filters. Maybe this would do
