I haven't, are you sure it is not sealant that has been used to seal the sender/pick up and has fallen in?

I think you will find , like Peter says you have been SILICONEd

 

Grows to twice the size of a small bead and happily blocks fuel lines!

 

I know, had two brake downs in 4 summers both blocked fuel line in pick up pipe in tank.

 

Drain down remove "jelly" and start again!!!!!!!!
