New Shocks And Springs

Hi All

Im going to replace my Zemmeride coilovers with somthing a bit more upto the job,

has anyone already done this? if so what make have you gone for, and more importantly what spring rate are you now running.

 

I have just phoned Avo and have been qouted £65 for the damper and around £20 per spring.

 

They were very suprised the rears are rated at 300lb, but that is whats supplied with my kit.

Anyone any advice?

ive got spax on mine from tweeks and am running with 275lb

Did they mean 300 was too high or too low then?

Its all Archimedes fault..or was it Pythagoras?

 

The geometry of the Sierra wishbones means that the wheel has more

than an 1:1 ratio to the spring, because the spring is a fair way inside the wheel.

 

If the wheel goes up by 4 inches, the spring is compressed by something less.

 

Plus the 2B is a bit of a porker anyway.....

 

Most other 7 types use wishbones at the rear with inclined coilovers connected much closer to the wheel.

I have coil overs on the rear of my 2b they are avo adjustables,350lb spring rating and its a nice ride they were about £250

also i have double wishboned the rear end,however the coilovers were fitted before and worked well

I have decided to go for the dampertech coilovers, 3yr gaurantee and fully rebuildable.

 

all in just under £300

 

I will post when ive done it and what i think of them
