Does Anyone Know The Weight Of A 2.0l Pinto Engine

Hi,

I'm planning for my winter project - rebuilding a 2.0L pinto engine to fit in my 3a ready for next year. I'm trying to buy an engine stand but can't find out the weight I need - can anyone help?

Thanks

Marcus

Less than 200 kg I think, so the smaller of the standard engine stands will do it - in fact I've got a Ford V6 sitting on my 3-legged one right now so I guess (hope) it's strong enough. The only snag I found with the 3-legged/single front front leg type was a bit of instability now and again.

My pinto sat fine on the 3 leg engine stand from machinemart, no leaning at all..

LotusBob has got a zetec on the 4 leg engine stand and that seems to be leaning an awful lot..! I looks like its almost hanging off.. but I suspect its solid, but just at a funny angle..

Did you go for the three leg one?

I have the Machine Mart 4-leg version & wish I had the 3 leg one, the main reason being the legs of my stand interfere with the legs on my engine crane when I'm hoisting the engine into the stand!

With a three leg stand the middle leg should slide between the legs of a crane a treat..........
